It happened! I finally made my first real purchase in preparation for Baby Q's arrival. I had been holding off for a while, mainly because I was being superstitious. Buying too many things for baby too early on seemed hasty. However, during a recent trip to the Vans store to buy new sneakers for my brother, I broke down and bought a little tiny miniature pair of shoes.
How cute are they? More importantly - how cute is Baby Q's foot? Not cute when he's kicking me awake in the morning (I'd better get used to that). My mother badgered the ultrasound tech for that picture at the 20-week anatomy scan, and I'm so glad she did! Good thing baby doesn't have my "Flintstone Feet," as they've so generously been dubbed in the past.
If you know anything about me, you know that I love, LOVE shoes. As my freshman year roommate used to say, all women fall into certain categories. There are lingerie women, jewelry women - the list goes on, but whatever category a woman falls under is where she spends her money (and where her significant other, if they're smart, spends their money). I am a shoe girl. I won't tell you how many pairs I own. A good shoe girl never tells. Let's just say I have recurring dreams of the shoe department in Neiman Marcus. In going through my phone, I've noticed I also take a lot of pictures like this:

I could have posted more, but I reigned myself in.
Before I found out Baby Q's gender, I was almost certain he was a she. Of course I imagined all of the future Mary Jane's, ballet slippers and glittery sneakers with pink laces I would be buying. Well, change of plans, and honestly I was not disappointed in the least. How could I be with all of these super cute options to choose from?
Whether it be by nature or nurture, I'm confident Baby Q will have a great appreciation for my one true love (aside from him). Maybe he'll even Instagram about his #shoegame...
Although, on second thought, I suppose Instagram will be nothing more than a "back in my day" story by then.
Hopefully.
Hopefully.
